The fast lane to a perfectly repaired plywood formwork panel

Step 1:

Make sure that the damaged area is clean and dry. Check specifically for “hidden” and rusty nails, screws or rivets. Also make sure that all concrete is removed. Use a wire brush to generously clear the area.

Step 2:

Place router with drill bit right above the damage. Your upper Body should be right above the router to have a better angle and more control. The baseplate of the router should be standing firm and flat on the board. Check that there is no dust or wood chips under the baseplate. Switch on router and slowly push down, drilling with controlled  force.

Step 3:

After the router has hit its depth stop pull it up and switch off. If all went well, the hole should look like this now. Blow away dust from hole.

Step 4:

Apply PU glue very sparingly right into the outer edge of the hole.

Step 5:

Place plicafix plywood repair spot into the hole and carefully hammer it in with a few soft hits. Use a wooden block to avoid damage of the film surface.

Step 6:

You did a good job if it now looks like this. The glue should be cured within the next 45 minutes. After that, the plicafix plywood repair spot has fully bonded with the board.
